HomePLC Based Systems

Product of this series focuses on programmable logic controllers (PLC) and its applications. PLCs of industrial standard manufacturers namely, Siemens, Delta, GE Fanuc, Allen Bradley, Omron, Mitsubishi, Schneider, ABB, Honeywell, etc will be supplied as per customer’s requirement.

Compact PLC Trainer

The Compact PLC Trainer (ACE 801) is designed to understand the basics of PLC and its programming modes. This trainer kit consists PLCs with Digital Inputs, Digital Outputs, Analog Inputs, Analog Outputs, PWM, and high-speed counters. Number of IOs, PLC type and model can be customized as per user requirement. The trainer can be used in Simulation / Process mode. In Simulation Mode, the PLC Inputs and Outputs are connected to the switches and LED indicators of the trainer kit. In Process Mode, any external process / plant can be connected to the PLC. To cater this, the trainer consists of analog and digital sources and sinks. The trainer is designed to be compact and uses standard industrial components to ensure user safety and durability.

Mixing Process Station

The mixing process station mimics the industrial chemical mixing process using programmable logic controllers (PLC). Water from the supply tank will be pumped to two overhead tanks and then filled to the process tank through solenoid valves. The quantity of fluid from each tank can be controlled by the time activation of the solenoid valves, which can be set by the user in the program.  After a delay the mixer motor will be activated for a particular preset time. The station consists of the following components:

  • Supply Tank
  • Overhead Tank – 2 Nos.
  • Pump
  • Mixer motor
  • Solenoid Valve – 4 Nos
  • High & Low level switches

PLC based Flow Process Trainer

The Flow Process Trainer (ACE 810) is designed to understand the elements of a flow process and its control. It consists of a pipeline fitted with orifice as flow device and a differential pressure transmitter calibrated to measure flow. One end of the pipeline is connected with a pump and rotameter.  The flow of the pipeline is controlled by a control valve which operates on a 3 to 15 psi pressure signal. A current to pressure (I/P) converter is used to convert the output of the controller (4-20mA) to the signal pressure. The process parameter is controlled by a programmable logic controller by means of the I/P Converter and Control valve. These units along with necessary piping are fitted on the support frame. The setup is designed for tabletop placement and access. The PLC is connected to computer through USB for monitoring and controlling the process. User friendly software and ladder logic sample codes will be supplied along with the hardware to perform different set of experiments. The setup can be interfaced with any SCADA software using Modbus communication.

PLC based Temperature Process Trainer

The Temperature Process Trainer is designed to understand the elements of a temperature process and its control. It consists of a process tank fitted with a heater to heat the water. The tank has inflow and outflow pipelines to allow continuous water supply. The inflow can be viewed and controlled by a rotameter.  The temperature of the outflow is measured by a RTD temperature transmitter. The heater supply is controlled by a programmable logic controller by means of a solid-state relay (SSR).
